Startrek: Imperfection

Some have expressed a desire to see a new trek series set way in the future.

How about a group of Borg wake from the nightmare on a Borg cube to find they are a diverse selection of races from different periods and regions and build an entirely new ship from parts that looks enterprise-ish, and they don't know where they are or when (way in the future) and latching onto a database of federation ideology try and find federation space?

Updated with some concept art...free floating transwarp nacelles.

Updated: Dwayne 'the rock' Johnson needs to be ship's captain.

  1. Cool idea! I'm kind of hoping for something similar, though from the direct Federation perspective... inspired by the Traveller: The New Era storyline...

It's 100 years after the Great Borg War. The Federation, Klingon Empire, Romulan Empire... all were swept away. Trillions died, billions were assimilated, and billions more were left behind as "unworthy of assimilation" among the ruins of their great civilizations...

Now, on Old Earth, civilization has risen once again, the planets of the system are slowly re-uniting, and a maverick crew of mixed species -- as all sorts of species were stranded on Earth after the Borg War... goes forth to the Starship Graveyard, where the Last Battle against the Borg was fought. Using the parts they find there, they cobble together the first working starship in a hundred years... and then set out to other stars, to find out what has happened elsewhere across the galaxy since the collapse of inter-galactic civilization...
