Game design: feeling bored?

Free Blind Monopoly

Let's up your monopoly game this holiday season.

A new terrain
You will need to create some hexagonal tiles (probably cut down from cork beer coasters with a Stanley knife - so ask your parents kids). They will then need to be marked down with arrows indicating interconnectivity. How many? Sixty three (a starter pack).
  • 1 six connect tile
  • 2 five connect tiles
  • 4 four connect tiles
  • 8 three connect tiles
  • 16 two connect tiles
  • 32 one connect tiles

Changes to play
Hand each player (up to six) an equal share of the tiles and after placing the six connect tile centre let the players lay their tiles out, creating a network outward. This now requires a rules-master lay property cards face down on these hexes along with chance and community chest cards. You only get to turn a property card up if you land there. If you don't buy a property card, it returns to face down.
Chance and community chest cards are also face down and if you choose to turn one of these cards up you must buy the community chest/chance card for the price of the property before examining it. Once purchased and 'used' the chance/community chest card is placed in the dump deck.
Once you acquire a property you must return (by roll of dice) to six connect card to collect any money owed you by other players. No more collect $200 as you pass go. You must borrow from the bank and repay to the bank up to $200 when you land on the six connect tile. If you fail to pay your loan next time you land on the six connect tile you go to prison for defaulting on your loan. You remain there until other players pay rent on properties that are yours (paying off your debt) or until end of game if you own no property.

Have fun.
