STAR TREK: AGE OF DARKNESS
Synopsis: The Borg, having detected the creation of 'man-made black holes' come looking to assimilate the technology. They enter Romulan Space. They assimilate Cloaking Technology allowing them to move into the Alpha Quadrant undetected. The Federation star ships are of such insignificant Technology that the Federation is not worth their Attention and they focus on assimilation of the Romulans and Klingons - only assimilating a few of the Alpha Quadrant's technologically advanced planetary populations.
It is here in the Dark between Stars where the Federation exists ignored by the forbidding Borg Gods who now occupy their Space unseen that the series would take place.
Jupiter Shipyards: Our DS9 Mini-Series
Commander Rojenko was promoted sideways to Jupiter Shipyards just before the Refugee crisis that has inundated his shipyards with diverse alien vessels and refugees on the run from the Borg. He is not the ideal Administrator, nor is he a Diplomat though his love of Alcohol and Russian opera has drawn the interest of a Klingon Captain who has found herself without a ship for the next few Months while her warbird is repaired.
Voyager: Our Voyager Miniseries
Patrolling Space near the Romulan Empire, A Borg cube beams away the Crew of the USS Voyager leaving an Ensign (who was in a crawl-way doing repair work) to survive alone. The ship is soon invaded by undesirable refugees who need the Ensign to make the ship go - and all the while a Borg nano-probe is assimilating the Ship's Computer turning it into an artificial intelligence.
