Mystaran Campaign: The Titan's Sword

 

The Storm struck the region of Lower Cruth with a fury, and in the aftermath the Villagers of Blackmound (situated up the Magos River from Riverfork Keep) found a giant bejeweled sword buried in a rocky mound half way up its blade.

Interested parties notice a huge black diamond (10,000,000gp) fixed to the blade just below the hilt guard. Its removal will require 1,000,000hp damage using a hammer and chisel.

The sword is actually forged by an immortal and thrown through a gate spell from the Immortal's home plane. the weapon was forged from a million single celled organisms, each with one hp, and the strength of Steel. So as the PCs spend the next few days chipping at it, they will slowly but surely kill a million living creatures, earning 1xp per hp inflicted. Just in time for the Armies of various factions to arrive, and lay claim to the diamond.

Having inflicted a million hit points damage on the blade, and picked up a share of one million experience points, the sword is reduced to dust. 

(20) Troops from Riverfork Keep arrive at this point to seize the gemstone for the kingdom along with an army of (200) Mercenaries who have come to claim a share of the wealth.
