This is a large, heavy steel shield which weighs twice the weight of a regular shield (20cn as opposed to 10cn), providing a +1 AC bonus as an ordinary shield as well as special counter-damage to any opponent equal to 1hp/Damage Dice of an opponent's melee attack.

Example: Shield-Maiden Maple is attacked by a warrior with a Battle-Axe for 1d10. The Warrior successfully hits Maple for 1d10 but takes 1hp counter-damage.
