Old Republic: Planets with the -Tooine suffix

The -TOOINE Suffix (Originally 2-INE) is an Old Republic planetary habitability designation issued by the Jedi to identify worlds as CLASS 2-INDUSTRIAL EMERGENT (A world where the planetary capacity for Industrial activity is at below its bare minimum for exploitation by, and membership in, the Republic).

This was commonly given by the Jedi to worlds with a biosphere that were considered insufficient to support the Industrial activities required to participate in the Republic without destruction of the Biosphere. It was regularly used to protect fragile ecosystems, but often fenced out worlds such as Tatooine (Previously planet Ta) which were being kept impoverished by the likes of the Hutt Occupancy who could use this to keep the Republic off their worlds.

A nice little text block which I've duplicated on the BX scaled page image...

Suddenly we find the Jedi were once at the forefront of Republic Expansionism surveying worlds and protecting fragile ecosystems from Republic exploitation.

TA-2-INE: Ta is an arid desert planet where the only exportable resource is water that can be pulled from the biosphere using moisture vaporators. It has insufficient water to allow for the mining of minerals or large scale agriculture.
