The broken lands were pretty much wiped out by subsidence when the nucleus of the spheres exploded. Sure there are humanoids in places like the great Crater, but the proper broken lands are at the bottom of an eight hundred feet deep mass grave. Untold humanoids died, although some speculate that as nothing short of fire can kill a troll there are probably Carrion feeders down there...surviving on the dead.
