The majority of our language comes from the groups branching out at 18% and 15% before the last Ice Age.
I suppose if they are the left and right of a single bell curve population then something wiped out the linguistic core from the middle that connected them.
Otherwise they are just two seperate groups who knew enough to get up and go elsewhere.
