Effect: Summons the Librarian
The Other planar entity known as the Librarian is summoned using this spell in combination with the 5th level spell Contact other Plane. As a consequence it requires multiple persons to complete the ritual. The Magic-user/Elf must cast Summon Librarian directly from a spellbook. To hold the librarian's interest, the caster must continue reading other spells from the spellbook at one per round. During this time, a second individual may ask questions of the librarian. The librarian will be vague and evasive in imparting any knowledge. A Posession check is required by everyone within fifty feet of the librarian. The first to fail DC20 check (+/- charisma bonuses/penalties) is posessed by the Librarian.
The Librarian: AC-3, 9HD*, MV 100' (300'), AT 2 claws/1 bite, DA 1d8/1d8/3d6+ special, SA Cleric L9, NA 1 (unique), ML 11, AL Neutral, TT special, XP 1,600.
The librarian is an ogre sized humanoid that is faceless other than its mouth and what look like words in some unknown script scribed apon its forehead (these are the actual answers the caster seeks-known before he/she asks a question). Other than that, the Librarian looks like a Ghoul (and will turn as a vampire- returning to the other plane).
Its bite can life drain creating a Spectre.
