Global Linguistic Map January 2023

Best of luck overcoming that ruling elite whose disregard for a million dead citizens through their own conspiracy to gross criminal negligence while decrying the treason of not perpetuating the fiction of their godlyness by disrupting the continuity of their governance...

...and your own need to worship at their blood stained feet.

Ray-gun Diplomacy: The Martian Chronicles

Global War is innevitable. The sense of self entitlement inherent in the conduct of Elected Representatives in imposing their diseased beliefs, kept secret from the populace who are forced to entrust their futures to them on the belief that might does not makes right is a shared belief, and that diseased minds precisely like those huddled beneath the parliamentary dome of absolute power are not gravitating toward intent on enacting the whispered fantasies of their insane ancestors.

Quitters Badge: The Owl House is intense

After bingint two seasons on Disney+ I'm now just waiting on season three...

All their decisions have been the wrong decisions. And frankly,

And the kids have doomed the Demon world, and left it to be the plaything of the Big Bad. And perhaps trying for the Quitters badge would have been more successful. But if thats the message you want to teach kids who come from imperfect homes, you might as well drop them in pits to fight dogs for food.

As a setting the use of Wild Magic was prolific. But then shenannigans of the time travel variety happen and they bitch Slap the BBEG before he turns into a Wild Witch hating asshole and set the future in motion (one with covens).

Addams family name appears at 28% making it older than the first names which show at 14%.

*Assumes Lurch is an Addams.

If we want a 28% rank name for Grandmother, perhaps a name like Arety, Yamara, or something like Mersey, Merse (or Mercy So when she tortured folks they had to say her name). You could Imagine Mercy being heiress to some old family name...

So lets give her a name:

• Mercy Cudgel (named after Mercy the Cudgel, a vicious waylayer of male travellers on the road near Boston).
• Mercy Colt (Colt Firearms- we killed more and got rich  doing it thany any outlaw).

Short Fiction: Age of Warp - J'MU'H'RN (Part 3)

PART THREE: BEFORE AND AFTER
"Chief?" Captain Brookes stared at the star field as it distorted into an unfamiliar form. "What's going on with the warp drive?"
"Chief Marlow?" The Star field returned to normal, although now those stars were very different. "What the hell?"

"Claire," Captain Brookes rose from his captain's chair and pulled on his knitted sweater. "You have the bridge while I go see what our Chief Engineer has done to our god damn Warp Drive."

"Yes Captain." Claire Franklin watched as Captain Avery Brookes left the Bridge in the navy-blue sweatter his mother had knitted for him.

...

"Captain!" Avery turned to look at the source of the voice speaking his name. A disturbed Doctor Scott stepped out of the medical bay. "What the hell was that with the star field?"
"I'm just going to discuss it with the Chief Engineer." Avery scratched the hair below his lower lip with the edge of his thumb nail and promptly lied. "Apparently there was a glitch."
"From the medbay window it looked like we were directly over a bloody great whirlpool." Kai Scott shook his head in amazement. "I have never heard of anything like that."
"If it happens again," Captain Brookes continued toward the back of the ship. "Remember to get a photo."

...

"Chief Marlow?" Captain Brookes adjusted his sweater until its slight lopsidedness no longer felt uncomfortable and left the Gantry way. "What the hell just happained?"
"Sorry Captain." Marlow was snuffing a fire in an EPS conduit."Its the warp field."
"It under went an inversion." Something flashed and blew. Whatever it was, it would need replacing. "God damn it!"
"You will be thrilled to know..." Avery Brookes examined a board lit up like a flashing christmas tree while Chief Engineer Marlow was focused elsewhere. "...that Doctor Scott saw what appeared to be a giant whirlpool directly beneath the ship from medbay window."
"Thats not good." Marlow contemplated the readout. "It should have been visible ahead of us."
"If that's the case..." Avery turned to Marlow. "Why was it below us?"
"It means one of the Naecelles was out of alignment..." Marlow sat the nuckle of his thumb in his left eye socket and dragged towards his cheek removing dust. "...enough that we were tumbling sideways."

"Can you fix it?" As Randal Marlow looked up to give Avery an answer the Las Vegas shuddered as it took the impact of something. "What the fuck?"

"Deploying Beacon-Sat." Claire Franklin's voice screamed the words over shipwide coms catching their attention as the alarms indicating the Naecelles were taking atmospheric drag sounded. "Entering Planetary Atmosphere."

"Commencing Aerobreaking." Franklin's voice continued through the checklist in Avery's brain. Aerobreaking reduced the pressure experienced by the Warp nacelles and their pylons and the alarms deactivated.
"I need to get to the bridge." Avery left Chief Marlow to monitor the systems. The Warp drive was no longer the problem.

"Oh Shit!" Claire Franklin's voice echoed concern across the ship.

"All Personnel to crash positions." The ship began pulling up forcing Avery to grab the gantry rail to steady himself. "Sixty seconds to ground."

"Marlow!" Avery looked back at the Chief Engineer exiting the engineering section and running. "Get you ass up here quickly."
"Fuck." Neither he nor Marlow were going to make the distance. "We are not going to make it"
"Engaging breaking thrusters." Claire Franklin's voice was a scream as the force of impact tossed Avery and Randal from the gantry, and a coolant pipe ruptured just in time to spear Captain Avery Brookes through the back halting his motion through the air as Chief Engineer Randal Marlow flew past him into the edge of a cargo block Painted with the words BARN before dropping to the bottom of the cargo bay.

The Ship's Automated Systems began ejecting the most forward of the Cargo blocks in order to shift the ballast load to the rear of the ship for what would come next. Alien Atmosphere poured in through the gaps along with rain. Organic debris of an alien ecosystem dropped into the hold. A crack in the hull of the ship bled black murky water from the external environment. It flowed around Chief Marlow's uncolcious body.

Block four ejected after the first three, the words BARN painted large and Red on its metal exterior distinguishing it from its companions. It landed to the left of the Las Vegas next to Block two crushing a swarm of large, leech-like creatures that had never encountered anything like this before.

...

Doctor Scott descended the stairs constructed from the reoriented main gantry and stared at a swarm of giant black leeches making a nest of the cargo bay.

"Well..." Kai Scott sprayed a few squirts of Saline at a leech and triggered a bulkhead door to isolate the cargo section from the upper level. "So much for getting to the food stores."

Space Stuff: A Door on Mars...

At the back of a cave is rock, but that doesnt mean it has secrets. A black  substance is in the corner. And acording to the colour picker that substance is orage-pink. And that in turn identifies as manganese or cobalt flouride. So its  entirely possible that this mineralization was the biological byproduct of life.

So lets go back to the door and reach inside.

Short Fiction: Age of Warp - J'MU'H'RN (Part 2)

PART TWO: PERMANENT ERECTION
Captain Brookes woke with a start and clutched at his chest wound.
"What..." He didn't remember falling asleep. He remembered looking down at the black water where something was thrashing about at the taste of his blood. "...the hell is this?"
"Where the hell..." Where ever he was, it wasn't in the cargo hold impaled on a coolant pipe. Wherever it was, it seemed dark, and there was a scent of something he hadn't experienced in several years. Sex."...am I?"
"Woah!" Several someones seemed to be clinging to his back and his front. He didn't remember multiple partners. His hand made contact with something fleshy and naked and moist and... "That is..."
"Who ever you and your friend are," Avery felt over stimulated and then drowsy. "You are good at tha..."
Captain Brookes succumbed to the pleasure.

...

"What the hell kind of landing was that?" Kai Scott contemplated his jaw. It felt bruised. Obviously the impact had been hard. But given they were not scattered across the surface, it was apparent the ship had survived atmospheric entry and the crash landing. "Anyone?"
"Fucking..." The sound of something impacting the transparent aluminium next to him spooked Kai and he now stared at the window where some local predator had obviously collided with the transparent aluminium, the blood of its likely demise now on the glass, as it dropped from view. "...Jesus."
"Awesome." Kai looked out at the barely visible alien swamp for a moment before he turned his attention to the hatch confining him to his crash couch and retrieved the oversized can opener from the emergency locker to one side. Placing it on the hatch, he forced the mechanism to lock down on the door surface. "Okay..."
"...Now move." Kai pushed against the mechanism and the door to emergency crash couch breached revealing the starship hallway was now a vertical shaft occupied by the staircase designed to deploy once the Las Vegas was vertical. There didn't seem to be anything resembling crew activity. "Hello?"

...

Kai found Chief Marlow on the Bridge, the sound of something sexual compelled him to interupt their alone-time but the sight of the corpse of the first officer soured him on the moment.
"What the fuck?" Something was pleasuring the Chief Engineer. It seemed to be a large black leech wrapped around the chief engineer's thigh like a bloated python. "What is that?"
"Indigenous lifeform." The sound of Chief Marlow's voice was as disturbing as it was unexpected. "Its enzymes are healing my wounds, but its venom after a while is... pleasureable."

"What..." Kai struggled to think about something other than what was happening. Kai focussed on the corpse of the first officer. 'What happened to Claire?"
"Impact seems to have killed her."  Marlow, the venom taking hold of his brain, felt an overwhelming desire that caused him to stare at the remaining hint of the first officer's sexuality. "Pity."
"Marlow... Focus." Doctor Scott rebuked Chief Marlow. "You know she'se dead right?"
"Huh?" Chief Marlow looked up at the doctor. "Yeah... sure Doctor."
"Let me guess..." Kai Scott focused on the leech. "You are starting to feel like one sexual partner isn't enough?"
"Yeah..." Marlow agreed. There was a need. "More...would be better."
"Okay..." Kai looked around for the bridge emergency medical kit "...Its definetly time to remove your friend."

...

"No don't." Captain Brookes, gaunt and on the edge of death cried at the overwheming emotion of being abandoned by his lovers as the bloated leeches dropped into the black swamp water. "Please."

...

"Lets try some salt." The large leech-like creature released Chief Marlow's thigh and made a sound much like a scream as Doctor Scott applied the Saline spray to its body causing it to drop to the floor and attempt to find some other place to be. "And that's a yes."
"Doctor," Chief Marlow instantly felt withdrawal symptoms. "I need you to stop torturing it and put it back on me."
"No," Doctor Scott pulled the Taser from the medkit and repeatedly stunned the suddenly enraged Marlow until the Chief Engineer succumed to a state of unconciousness. Scott turned the weapon on the Leech as it flailed at him out of survival. "I don't think so."

...

"Chief Marlow?" Doctor Scott pulled back the shutter and looked into the Quarantine airlock at the only human patient on board causing Chief Marlow to lunge at the opened shutter screaming like a mad dog. "That wont do."
"Patient Marlow still showing violent symptoms of withdrawal." Kai Scott shocked the Patient into unconciousness and closed the shutter. "Application of Taser necessary."

"Hello there." Kai stared at the giant bloated leech testing the limits of it's container. "I see you are finally making a recovery."

"I'm just popping down to see..." Doctor Scott waved a Saline bottle in front of his new pet and sprayed the glass of the container causing it to recoil out of recognition. "...if there are any more of you on board."

Conclusion: originating in the A/G indeterminant makes it most likely related to the A-G (Cave) linguistic subgroup. So the idea of walking dead is pre-iceage? The data pool is tiny but you work with what you get,

So lets say there is a cave in iceland that needs to be found despite our Korean Cave origin.
