Who are the Aztec-Tswana?
They have the use of Reed-bundle boats in common. They may be people who occupy swamp at the mouth of the Amazon. A group of Males leave the Pre-Aztec T-group and cross the Atlantic to become the Male pre-Tswana T-group. Its possible they got an odd current and found themselves unable to return. Or perhaps they intentionally made the journey. At 55% they encounter the Female Tswana E-O group (who have E, O at 66%).

Anyway, thats a lot of cataclysms setting back civilization.

Free Stuff: Lunar manufactured Liquid Crystals

I was thinking about the whole plan to manufacture a sun shade and put it out there in space at L1 to shade the earth. But rockets, polution, and stuff. Instead lets make liquid crystals on the moon from regolith materials. We can maglev it out to L1 where an electric field would be applied to create a polarized sunshade.

Then I thought, what if we use the liquid crystals to provide radiation shielding for lunar and martian colonies as well as to create a liquid crystal radiation shield around a spacecraft travelling between earth and mars?

Coronavirus Memes: its doubtful that 2021 will be better

Someone said that a few years from now, when you find a mask in the pocket of an old coat you will look back on 2020 with a smile, before going at it with the roving band of cannibals looking to eat you.

Survival of the unexposed, and continuity of civilization, requires everyone who has ever had the coronavirus to pretty much be deported to mainland Australia to live out their lives while the rest of the world goes on without them.

Incompetent and corrupt government has no moral high ground, and they will never sacrifice themselves for that whole greater good. So... later this morning, as I sweep up the shattered beer bottles my drunk, angry neighbours just smashed in the driveway at 1:30 a.m. because they feel a loss of control in their little lives, I will look forward to cooking breakfast.

Humans outlived twenty thousand years of asteroid bombardment. Any remnant of civilization they took with them into the caves, whittled down to just one family huddled in a cave with no memory of laws, governments, cities, or starships.

We go on.

Dungeon Mastery: The Widow's Cellar

The Widow Edda asks for someone to kill the rats in her cellar...

Into the Cellar
1- Descending the stairs you enter a rough cut chamber.

1a- The stairs, unlike most cellars which have wooden stairs are stone.
DC 12: the stairs are stone, roughly carved out of what appears to be a giant granite boulder on which her house sits rather than the black soil that dominates the land on which the village and surrounding farmland is located.
Something small and rodent-like scampers out of view. DC 15: you are pretty sure it looked like it was diseased and malnourished.
The cellar is cluttered with old wooden artefacts such as buckets, barrels, and even a chest covered by a pile of old rotted sacks.
If they clean out the cellar they have a DC 18 chance of noticing a circle of old wax poured on the stone, and strange writing within its circle. At midnight this magic circle turns any ordinary corpse into an undead zombie. The rat is an undead zombie rat with 1+1HD. Edda killed it the previous day and saw it scurrying around the day after causing her to think there was more than one rat.

1b- this section of hewn wall looks like a number of smaller stones have been used to brick up a hole. It will be noticed on a DC12.

2- hidden in a hole behind the stone bricks is a mask of bone, a holy symbol and magic item of Thanatos. It will allow the wearer the ability to cast a circle of zombie animation.

Circle of Zombie Animation (6th level)
Range: Touch
Duration: permanent until dispelled
Effect: creates a ritual circle which will turn any corpse in the prepared circle into a zombie once per midnight. The circle requires An hour of preparation time using wax and blood of the caster.

Earning XP
Desecrating the wax circle earns 100xp.
Destroying the Bone Mask is worth 500xp.
Selling the bone mask is worth 18,000gp
Chaotic PCs might be interested in keeping the bone mask as it is a powerful magic item.

Conclusion: gaelic male culture begins at 50% fully literate with Énnae.
Male culture climbs at 37%, dropping back at 29%. Peaking at 21% before declining and recovering again to a cultural peak at 14%.
P is a late addition to the name alphabet, likely because Saint Patrick comes to 'civilize' the Gaels. That puts 1% just after his 5th Century arrival in Ireland. The lack of K in alphabet development means Patrick is spelt Patric or Patraic. Gilla Pátraic mac Donnchada (died 996) was king of Osraige. Gaelic language sub-group ends with Christianization.
